Club Information

Stornoway Canoe Club is an affiliated member of the Scottish Canoe Association and its aim is to promote the sport of canoeing. Our constitution was last amended at the AGM in April 2002.

Membership Fees

Current membershio fees are below, for members joining for the first time on or after 1 November 2006 only half the fee applies. The application form is available here.

The membership fees cover affiliation to the Scottish Canoe Association and contribute to the running of the club and the purchase and maintenance of club equipment.
Session Charges

Pool Sessions

Cuddy Point

Cuddy Point (Own Boat)

These charges cover the cost of swimming pool hire and & the upkeep and lease of Cuddy Point as well as contributing to the purchase and maintenance of club equipment.

Boat Hire

Two committee members, including a Level 3 coach must approve hire of club boats. The current hire charge is £3 per day. Must join Stornoway Canoe Club.
Trips

We have agreed the following guidelines for trips:

Fuel etc

Individuals travelling together are expected to share the costs.

Trailers

If someone is towing a trailer carrying a boat for you (including club boats) you should contribute at least £2 to the driver.

PLEASE TRY AND PAY YOUR SHARE OF THE COSTS ON THE DAY. We rely on the goodwill of drivers to enable us to continue to run trips.

Committee Meetings

Club meetings are informal events, open to all members, and are usually held after the club session on Thursday evenings The AGM is held each year in April or May. Minutes of the Club AGM and other meetings are available here.
